Our team are full-time professionals, and this policy sets out how we work. Our rates are published separately. Please read this before your session — if anything isn’t clear, ask your engineer.
Payments
Payment can be made via bank transfer. All recordings and masters remain the property of The Avenue Recording Studio Pty Ltd until final payment is received.
Sessions can be paid upfront, or as a 50% deposit with the balance on completion.
Cancellations need at least 48 hours’ notice, or a cancellation fee applies.
Overtime
Overtime is charged at your session’s hourly rate. For artist sessions with a house engineer that’s $165 an hour; on dry hire it’s $99 an hour for the room, plus your engineer’s agreed fee. GST included.
Mixes, masters and assets
How are files delivered, and how long are they kept?
Mixes, masters and stems are delivered via a cloud service and held there for seven days.
We may keep recordings in our archives for future use, but holding your recordings after a project is finished isn’t something we can guarantee — keep your own copies.
What’s included in revisions?
Every mix includes two revisions and every master includes one. These need to be requested within seven days of receiving the final mix or master.
Further revisions are billed at our hourly rate in 30-minute increments.
Revisions don’t cover new parts added after the first mix or master is finished — those are charged at our hourly rate or by negotiation. Talk to your engineer if any of this isn’t clear.
Signing off before mastering
Once a mix is signed off as “ready for mastering”, taking it back to an earlier stage of the production may incur additional fees.
Stems and session files
Our stem service is available any time, charged at $150 an hour including an engineer. Please allow enough time for rendering. Project session files can be provided on request.
