Gone are the days when it was enough to be a skilled engineer or producer. To make a living in music today, you also have to be able to start and run your own business.
That gap is what the Academy of Audio exists to close. Founded by our co-owner, producer and engineer Simon Moro, the Academy runs from The Avenue, so students learn in a working studio rather than a classroom.
Craft plus business
The flagship program is built around a simple idea: traditional audio training is valuable, but it is not enough on its own. The Academy combines production craft with real-world business training and mentorship, so graduates can hit the ground running as independent producers.
Being based at a working facility matters more than it sounds. Students see real sessions, real clients and real deadlines — the parts of the job a syllabus cannot teach.
The Avenue itself is a recording facility, not a school: sessions, mixing and mastering are what we do. But we are proud to be the room the Academy calls home.
